Paramilitaries besiege the community of Bijao

Since three o’clock in the afternoon a paramilitary group settled less than 5 minutes away from the farm of Bijao Cacarica.

Since 8 day, including yesterday, the government was informed about the development of the paramilitary operation which was initiated in Unguía and about the mobilization of those groups in the territory of Cacarica in the farms of La Balsa and Travesía (Puente América) near to el Atrato. Today’s answer to this is that the available troops in the region that are located 17 km away from the recent developments are not able to reach the scene.

Since last April, after the hearing of the case of murder of Marino López and the operation Genesis before the Interamerican Court those paramilitary operations have been implemented against the Afro-Colombian communities.
